Account

How do I create an account?

Sign up with your email or connect a social account. Once you're in, you can start uploading immediately.

Can I leave the platform anytime?

Yes. You can join, use, or leave StageTown at any time! There are no contracts or lock-ins.

Is StageTown free to use?

Creating an account and uploading content is free. We only take a fee when you earn. If you don't make money, we don't make money.

Content

What kind of content can I upload?

StageTown is a Safe for Work platform. You can upload videos, and we're expanding to images, text, products, and chat. All content must comply with our community guidelines.

Do I own my content?

You own everything you upload. StageTown doesn't claim ownership of your content.

Payments

What fees does StageTown charge?

Only the StageTown platform fee is guaranteed. All other fees, charges, and tax rates listed below are set by third parties and may vary.

1. StageTown Platform Fee

7% of each successfully processed transaction.

This is how StageTown sustains the platform: hosting, infrastructure, support, and development. If you don't earn, we don't earn.

2. Payment Processing Fees

Stripe processes the payment from the viewer. These fees are set by Stripe, not StageTown. We do not mark up or profit from them.

  • Domestic cards (U.S.): 2.9% + $0.30
  • International cards: +1.5% surcharge
  • Currency conversion: +1%

3. Payout Fees

You choose when to withdraw your earnings to your bank account. A small fee is charged per withdrawal, not per transaction.

  • Standard withdrawal: 0.25% + $0.25
  • Instant payout (if enabled): 1% of payout volume
  • Cross-border payout: starting at 0.25%

Tip: withdraw less frequently to minimize fees. There may be other Stripe operational fees not listed.

4. Applicable Taxes

Sales tax, VAT, GST, or other transaction taxes may be added to the viewer's payment where required by law. These are collected and remitted to the relevant tax authority. They are not a StageTown fee.

Why are Stripe fees passed on to creators?

Stripe fees are passed through to creators as standard industry practice. Every major platform that uses Stripe operates this way. We don't mark up or profit from payment processing fees. The only fee that goes to StageTown is the 7% platform fee.

When do I get paid?

Earnings are available for payout once they clear through Stripe. Payouts are sent directly to your connected bank account. There are no monthly minimums or waiting periods beyond Stripe's standard clearing time.

What payment methods do viewers use?

Viewers can pay using any major credit or debit card through Stripe.

Can I set my own prices?

Yes. You set the price for every piece of content you upload. There are no pricing restrictions or pre-set tiers. Your content, your price.

Sharing

How do viewers find my content?

You share a direct link to your video. Post it on social media, send it in a DM, drop it in an email. Wherever your audience is, your link works.

Can I preview my content before sharing?

Yes. You can set an optional preview duration so viewers get a teaser before they pay. This is entirely up to you.

Can I track who has viewed my content?

Yes. Your dashboard shows real-time analytics including views, earnings, and audience engagement per video.

Platform

Who owns the relationship with my audience?

You do. StageTown never inserts itself between you and your viewers. We provide the infrastructure. The relationship is yours.

What makes StageTown different from other platforms?

No algorithms, no ads, no public feed. You upload content, set a price, and share a link. Viewers pay you directly. That's it.
